Golden gates

These are some gate sets that are known to have very nice synthesis properties.

Basically, they generate a subgroup of \(SU(2)\) which is the set of single qubit gates.

The study probably started off from a letter of Sarnak [1]. Here is the letter in \(\LaTeX\).
